State pharmacopoeia of the USSR the first edition of the state pharmacopoeia of the union of soviet socialist republic was published in 1866 in Russian language. Pharmacopoeia of the zunion of soviet socialist republic was published in 1866 in Russian language. Next edition,1871, 1880, 1891,1902, 1910, 1925,1946, 1961, ,so on the 9th edition was published in 1961, under the auspices of the pharmacopoeia committee of the ministry of health of the USSE.

In 1946 the Government of India published the Indian pharmacopoeia list which served supplement to British pharmacopoeia.

The second edition the Indian pharmacopoeia was published in 1966 & a supplement of it was published in 1975 & 1978 it was reconstitute & published. The Indian pharmacopoeia is an official books contains the standard for medicine & other substances. Pharmaceutical manufacturers must comply with standard.
