It is an official publication written by legally authorized body constituted by law, which describes medicine that are used commonly with their source. Properties, action, standardization, indication, contraindication etc.

1. International pharmacopoeia (Int.P) WHO
2. British pharmacopoeia (B.P) followed in our country.
3. United states pharmacopoeia (U.S.P)
